We're focusing heavily on stability and bug fixes, and that's part of why we decided to make Expanded and not just change everything in a hurry and call it X2. However, there are bug fixes in Expanded and many bugs were fixed in the ProChannel as we've developed it through Expanded. I totally understand where you're coming from.

i can appreciate that, but i would rather wait for the full whack in 1-2 years time,, like i said the prochannel still has its is issues and adding all that on to that, before sorting it, is that not gonna possibly bring more problems ?

That's why we priced Expanded the way we did at $49US/ 35GBP, A typical, full version upgrade price is two to three times that amount. However, Expanded isn't quite up to the magnitude of a full, new version release, and we wanted to stay committed to continue development of X1 before moving on to the next version of SONAR.

AFAIK there will be more free updates to X1, its just that the features in X1 Expanded won't be available to you unless you purchase Expanded. IMO, to release fixes for an existing version of software that's not even a year old in a new add-on pack you have to purchase isn't right. The biggest concern I have right now is if X1c is no longer going to receive bug fixes and are we going to be forced to upgrade to receive anymore fixes? I understood exactly what you meant dgrm44. But maybe this can be corrected moving forward. Your not "in tune" with us as you once were. I think a lot of your users do understand.maybe that is a core issue Cakewalk is now having. I'm liking Sonar X1 minus to crashes and hoping that this new X1 Expanded helps with the bugs! Because honestly, as I'm sure you would expect, new features are good and all but not if the underlying software is unstable. We'll have more details about this as we reach release, though. I'm fairly certain that there are bug fixes from SONAR in general, not just of new features in Expanded. Seth, do you know if the Expanded fixes any bugs that were discovered after the X1c update? Or is it just purely add-on of features? My X1c still crashes randomly and, although I try to hit ctrl+s as after as I can, there are times when Sonar strategically crashes on me after doing some significant work to my project but before I can save. (not sure what Vista/ Win7 have to do with any of this) The Production Suite is simply a combination of X1 Producer, Expanded, the PC-4K Gate, and Z3ta+ 2, bundled into one box for new customers. As such, its not really the 'next version' of SONAR as X1 Producer must present on a system to install/ use it.
X1 Expanded is an add-on to X1 Producer and cannot be used as a standalone product.
